Julian Knight is Professor of Genomic Medicine at the University of Oxford and Honorary Consultant Physician at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. He is a Principal Investigator at the Centre for Human Genetics, leading work investigating the genomics of immunity and how this can determine our individual response to infections such as sepsis. He is clinically active in internal medicine and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. His work is focused on advancing genomic medicine into the clinic, combining an active research programme with leadership in education and training.

Narges Alipanah-Lechner, MD, MAS, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UCSF. She earned her undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and completed both her medical degree and master’s degree in clinical and epidemiological research at UCSF. Dr. Alipanah-Lechner’s research focuses on metabolomics and complementary systems biology approaches within precision medicine to improve diagnosis and treatment of patients with critical illness syndromes. She currently leads the biology committee of the PANTHER Trial, the first international platform trial utilizing precision medicine in ARDS and was awarded the American Society for Clinical Investigation’s 2024 Emerging Generation Award. In addition to her research, Dr. Alipanah-Lechner provides clinical care in the medical and neurological intensive care units at UCSF.

Ephraim Tsalik, MD, MHS, Ph.D., FIDSA, is the VP and Chief Scientific Officer for Infectious Disease and Acute Care at Danaher, where he leads scientific strategy and innovation focused on infectious disease diagnostics, sepsis, antimicrobial resistance, and acute care. Prior to joining Danaher, Dr. Tsalik led a research program at Duke University focused on the intersection of infectious diseases, genomics, and precision diagnostics. He remains clinically active at the Durham VA Health Care System and maintains an adjunct appointment with Duke University.
