Prof. Dr. med. Stefan Verlohren is Chairman and Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, one of Germany’s leading centers for perinatal care. He received his medical training at Charité – University Medicine Berlin and St. George’s Hospital, London, and specialized in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. His clinical expertise focuses on the management of high-risk pregnancies and the prenatal diagnosis and therapy of fetal malformations. Prof. Verlohren’s primary research interest lies in preeclampsia, where he has contributed extensively to both basic and clinical research, publishing numerous studies in the field. He is a member of the ISSHP, currently working on the international preeclampsia guideline revision.
