Preeclampsia remains a leading cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality worldwide, placing a significant burden on families and healthcare systems. Despite its adverse impact, early and accurate detection has long been a challenge. This educational webinar will explore how sFlt-1 and PlGF can help support more effective clinical decision-making to improve patient outcomes.

Join Dr. Stefan Verlohren, a leading expert in maternal-fetal medicine, as he provides an overview of the development and progression of preeclampsia. He will then examine through case study examples how the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio (PE ratio) is used in different clinical settings to assess risk and manage patients.

In addition, Dr. Verlohren will explain how the different clinical utilities of the PE ratio are used in a holistic, integrated approach for helping to improve outcomes for both mother and baby.

Designed for lab professionals and clinicians, this webinar will highlight the critical role of laboratory diagnostics in providing more effective preeclampsia patient care.

Key learning objectives:

Following this webinar, you will be able to:

  • Summarize the pathophysiology of preeclampsia and the clinical utility of the PE ratio
  • Explain the PE ratio clinical value in the short-term prediction and diagnosis of preeclampsia
  • Describe the clinically oriented, integrated approach of the PE ratio spanning early risk assessment, biomarker-driven prediction, and outcome-focused monitoring

Who should attend?

  • Obstetricians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists
  • Clinical pathologists and laboratory directors
  • Clinical chemists and medical technologists
  • Women’s health providers
  • Hospital administrators and care coordinators
  • Researchers and healthcare policymakers
  • Medical science liaisons and medical affairs professionals
  • Professionals involved in diagnostic test implementation or maternal risk stratification
